Should I choose a prepaid SIM or a monthly plan?
Prepaid suits light users and newcomers who want to test network coverage first: no commitment, you top up as you go. Monthly plans are easier to manage, and many low-cost SIM-only plans now have no minimum contract (notice periods still apply). Compare current offers in our mobile plans guide.
Does my EU mobile plan work in Switzerland?
Usually, but not always for free: Switzerland is not in the EU, so the EU’s “roam like at home” rules don’t apply here and many foreign plans charge roaming fees. Check your provider’s rates, or switch to a Swiss plan soon after you arrive. Several Swiss plans include EU roaming data for your trips abroad.
How can I get online while I wait for home internet?

Yes. Almost every household in Switzerland pays the federal radio and TV fee, collected by Serafe, whether or not you own a TV or radio. You don’t need to sign up: the invoice is sent automatically once you are registered with your municipality.
